Our first Pope from the United States.  I love that he is known as ‘il meno americano tra gli americani’  which means the least American of the Americans, which they call him because of his humility…..but there is one thing very American about him and that is his rich and diverse ethnic background, Spanish, French, Italian and Black.  After all, most of the great things in the USA can be attributed to our diversity.  A lesson we apparently need reminding of.  The hike not a Catholic I am hopeful about him as il Papa.
