Todays Shero is Mary Peltola.

Peltola shocked many people when she became the first Democratic Alaskan elected to Congress in 50 years and the first Indigenous Alaskan ever in federal office. She is also the first woman to represent Alaska in the House, and the first representative from Alaska to have been born in the state.

This week she introduced her first bill which passed the House and will hopefully become law. The Bill would establish an Office of Food Security in the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Peltola is a tribal member of the Orutsararmiut Native Council and served as a judge on the tribal court. She also was a member of Alaska’s State legislature for 10 years.

Please help re-elect her by donating to her campign! Keep Alaska Blue!
