As the House Minority Whip Katherine Clark is the highest ranking Democratic Woman Congresswoman.  I feel like we don’t hear about her much but that’s probably because she focuses on doing the work.
Like so many women she got involved in public service through her local school board. Which she got involved in in her late 30’s.  She served there for 6 years before finally running for first State Rep and then State Senate.  She has been in Congress for a decade now. 
One thing I found interesting is that for her residence in DC she shares a place with 5 other women members of Congress (I think there should be a lot more of that sort of thing!).
